Halloween Party Information
Halloween Parade and Party Tips
When does the Halloween Parade Begin?
The Halloween Parade and Party is on Tuesday, October 31st at 2pm.
Can my child wear his/her costume to school?
No. On Tuesday, October 31 students are invited to bring Halloween costumes in their backpack. I will allot time for students to change before the parade begins.
Are masks permitted?
Masks are permitted; however, students should be able to easily navigate the building, stairwells, and outdoor walkways.
My child is a ninja. Can he/she bring a sword?
No, students are not permitted to bring pretend weapons such as knives, swords, guns, etc. If students are unsure if their costume meets the requirements, I would be happy to provide guidance.
Where can I wait for the parade to start?
Parents, friends and family members are invited to join the parade. Please plan to meet the students on the perimeter of the blacktop or watch from alongside the parade route from DeMun to S. Rosebury.
Can I attend the class party afterward?
Yes, we would love for you to attend. All are invited to attend the class parties immediately following the parade.

Pumpkin, Pumpkin
We are continuing our science unit by studying the life cycle of plants. This week we planted Brassica seeds. We will look at them and chart the progress.
We have read several books on the life cycle of plants and pumpkins. Many students are connecting to the pumpkins and talk about having Halloween pumpkins for their house.

Katie is a quadriplegic that was in a car accident in 1990 when she was 25 years old. She showed the students all her special tools that allow her to be independent, including her really cool wheelchair!
