Black History Night Activities

This years theme for Black History Night is the Great Migration. This theme connects to last year's theme of the Harlem Renaissance. We have read books and watched videos about these artists: Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Josephine Baker, Langston Hughes, and Faith Ringgold. We made a quilt square for each person and then made quilts. They are hanging up stairs in the hallways. Black History Night is Thursday, February 22. The kids need to be at Clayton High School starting at 6:30 with the show starting at 7 p.m. All students 1st through 5th grades get to sing, act or dance on stage. Please mark your calendars for this special event!
